Con l'inaugurazione del 26 settembre 09 si è concluso il lavoro di recupero della Chiesa di S. Pietro che ha visto una partecipazione internazionale che ha permesso al nostro piccolo Quartiere di raggiungere un risultato insperato.

Con questo voglio ringraziare tutti quanti hanno contribuito al raggiungimento di questo risultato per la loro generosità  e sensibilità  dimostrata per la storia di Montalcino che fà parte integrante della storia della nostra bella Italia.

Nell'occasione è stato pubblicato un libro dal titolo "San Pietro-Rinascita di una chiesa". Nel libro, scritto da chi ha contribuito sia manualmente, sia materialmente al restauro della chiesa e delle sue opere d'arte contenute si narra della storia di San Pietro e della Compagnia laicale che qui ebbe vita, dei restauri prima e dopo, dei dipinti. I testi sono accompagnati da bellissime foto che rendono meglio di ogni altra parola il restauro fatto. E' stato inoltre realizzato un CD di restauri con musiche di Vivaldi che è veramente emozionante.

With the inauguration on the 26th September 2009 and with the participation of international friends we have completed the restoration of the Church of San Pietro which has meant our small group, Quartiere Pianello, achieved an inspired result.

We would like to thank all those who contributed to achieving this result; we thank you for your generosity and sensibility and affection shown for the history of Montalcino that is an integral part of the history of our “Bella Italia”

Together with the inauguration of our Church, we’ve published a book titled “San Pietro-Rinascita di una chiesa” (San Pietro-rebirth of a church); in Italian only.  This book has been written by those who contributed both manually and materially to the restoration of the church and its art work and narrates the history of San Pietro and the laic people that gave life to the restoration before and after the artwork.  The text is accompanied by splendid photographs that show, in more than words could ever do, the actual restoration work that took place.  “San Pietro-Rinascita di una chiesa” is a bound hard cover book of 111 pages, measuring 23 cm by 32 cm and comes with its own dark blue protective sleeve.

We have also produced a DVD of the restoration work with in the background music by Vivaldi which creates a truly emotional experience when viewing the DVD.
